HTML5 Showcase
The demos below show how the latest version of Apple’s Safari web browser, new Macs, and new Apple mobile devices all support the capabilities of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Not all browsers offer this support. But soon other modern browsers will take advantage of these same web standards — and the amazing things they enable web designers to do.

All pretty impressive if you ask me.. lets see how  Adobe and Flash evolve their product. You’ll obviously need Safari 5 installed on your machine.

This is the music viseo of “We Have Band – You Came Out” – Created by W+K creative team Ida Gronblom & Fabian Berglund and Blinkink director David Wilson.
The face paint animation film is made up of 4,816 separate stills. Each and every frame was hand-painted, shot, wiped off and redrawn, slightly differently for the next frame in order to create a seamless sequence. This time-consuming process involved the band members lying still for two consecutive days in a studio.

In order to animate the singing bit, lip movement was created by animating a painted mouth on the singer Dede. This involved breaking the lyrics into phonetics and giving each sound a specific mouth shape. To make this as realistic as possible all the mouth shapes were painted on Dedes face individually and then shot. All 4,816 frames of the music video can be found on Flickr.

Please send this round .. I know.. I know. I shouldn’t be doing the shameless punting thing.

But we were involved in the campaign, art direction, design, film and site..
I really so think it’s one of the most revealing documents of our time (although we did really know it was going on didn’t we), now we have proof.

I’m very hard to please (due to my product & furniture design background) when I comes to product design, however this is interesting.

It doesn’t conform the the usual territorial desk space issues, which I like.

It doesn’t meet the requirements for a heavy computer user, edit suites and alike.

It also doesn’t take into consideration the fact that if you have two monitors you are going to be 20% more efficient at your work. Using two screens helps to compartmentalise you tasking.. indeed your multi tasking.

However as a multi-functional home office on wheels, it’s pretty bloody good.

One of my old clients, Truphone , have just launched their application for the iPod touch.. which is great.
What was just a mp3/video player can now be a telephone (all you need the headphones with a microphone). They use VOIP at the heart of their product offering (kinda like SKYPE.. but on a mobile and a iPod) and it works on Symbian based Nokia phones, the iPhone and the Blackberry.
