Over the past few days, I have been gradually posting images of my adventures (with some dear friends) to Burning Man on flickr (also enclosed in this post). Pictures and words can not describe how amazing it was.

The image you see above here is a satellite image of the whole dam thing…. just look how amazingly organised it is.. we lived at 9.30 and Detroit. Work it out for your selves.. Lots of Rum, Vodka, Miso soup, beef jerky the Gourd and what not, were consumed.

Surreal, creative, fun, bloody mad, exhausting, inspiring –  are just a few one worders that only scrape the surface.

There was no animosity whatsoever and this was so much better than any English festival experience I could possibly imagine. No rubbish, carnage, mess, just a deep respect for the surroundings.

A huge 200 art installations where dotted around the Playa and mutant vehicles, bikes, dust storms, lots of  laughs etc..
I just want to thank the lovely people that joined me on this amazing adventure, they know who they are….

On the organisational front, I’ll be going again next year for sure. Get in touch if you need some hot tips etc.. I hope you enjoy my photos.

I’ll definitely be doing some sky diving over the Man next time.

I first saw this imagine at the Corbusier exhibition, curated at the Barbican in May 2009.
This picture really struck a cord in me. Here was Mercedes Benz using the backdrop of Le Corbusier’s Weissenhof House (1927), to demonstrate its modernity and it’s forward looking views on technology, materials and .. fashion. In todays age this staggeringly amazing shot, makes the car look like a thing of the past a relic, while Corusier’s Weissenhof House is still up there amongst the greats.. It just hasn’t dated.

An absolutely amazing timeless piece of architecture..

Fred Lebain visited New York during last spring and photographed different locations.
Then he printed out some large details, returned to those spots and made new photos of the prints aligned to the locations.
It’s a very simple idea,  very nice.

This much awaited scheme has had everybody in the design community talking, pining and drooling for some time… well now the’ve started to develop it.

It’s looking fantastic especially with the addition of Anish Kapoor’s amazing.

The ‘One earth, one sun’ exhibition at the Gwangju design biennale 09, Korea, has produced some great work.

Bueller…Bueller…

This awesome peice of architecture is tucked away in the woods of Chicago,  four-bed, four-bath: it’s a modernist masterpiece. Probably more well-know for its starring role in the painfully infamous car scene of the feature film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

Pick it up for only $2.3 million.

Two steel-and-glass buildings make up this peaceful palace with the garage celebrating the automobile by showcasing the cars within. Architects A. James Speyer and David Haid built the structures on steel beams, creating a Jetson-like pod above the ground. The home also has stunning panoramic views, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls spanning 5,300 square feet.

mmmh..

Great track, great location.. I’d love to do a shoot in there.
What great energy……..

Chris Jordan gives us a snap shot of humanity through his uber-sized images. He translates unimaginable and hard to fathom statistics and makes them… well manageable and intelligible. He wants to develop a visual language that is to be experienced and felt.
